Ceriog Viaduct is a high level, incrementally launched, concrete box girder, seven span viaduct. Situated in an area of scenic beauty, the design was subject to the approval of the Fine Arts Commission.

The method of construction, whilst requiring the contractor to work to very close tolerances, offered many benefits including ease of supervision, all weather construction and the ability to incorporate safety rails and finishes in the concrete casting area.
