Design Engineer – Glasgow

Tony Gee requires an experienced graduate design engineer with at least three years’ experience to join our Glasgow Office. Applicants will be expected to hold a MEng degree or equivalent and should be able to demonstrate and show experience of participation in the design of civil and structural projects from feasibility to construction stage. Tony Gee has a wide variety of projects underway including rail, highways, marine, bridges, earthworks and general structural design and temporary works design.

The Glasgow office has grown at a steady rate since it opened in 2007. Workload is varied and the team is currently working on a wide variety of projects, including the new Forth Crossing, Edinburgh Tram Network and various Transport Scotland schemes.

The office provides temporary works designs and Design and Build Support for a number of Contractors. These relationships continue to grow, and it is envisaged that staffing levels within the Glasgow office will continue to rise to service our Clients on going requirements.

You will play in integral part in this small but busy team; helping to deliver projects to our expected high standards whilst taking an active role in the development of the office.

It is expected that Graduates applying for this role are enrolled onto the ICE training scheme and will have made progress towards completing their development objectives. Graduates would be expected to join Tony Gee’s graduate training scheme for the ICE CPR and site placements can be arranged with contractor clients to gain practical experience. The graduates would be involved throughout the life of a project and be expected to be involved in investigation, survey, feasibility, optioneering, preliminary and detailed design and then provide site support during construction.

The office itself is located in the vibrant heart of Glasgow with its excellent transport links, including two mainline railway stations and a subway station within a five minute walk.
